Looping three second video installed on leaning monitor, 2017

A photographic version of my own head inflates and deflates in a continuum. The ceaseless fluctuation between these two extremes references the frustration and inevitable failure to create a successful three-dimensional reference to the body. Within this work I draw correlations between these perpetually shifting images and bodies in times of illness, swelling from prolonged steroid medication. The stop-motion style offers a comedic quality, while the intense female gaze sears through with implied frustration and annoyance.
